Sleepy time

Martha and daddy looked so cute cuddled asleep together. I love her little hand holding onto daddy!

Crawling Mastered

Martha has been crawling very slowly over the last few days. However,now seeing tins of very shiny chocolates sitting around her crawl has become very determined and picking up speed!

1st Christmas!

Martha finally woke up an hour after eveyone else had been up and making noise in her room! She was excited to see so many exciting things strewn all over mum and dad's bed.

Pulling up Carrots

Martha went out with Daddy to pull up the remaining carrots from the veggie plot. Daddy made some delicious carrot soup!!

Dinner Time

Martha is really enjoying beibg part of the family meal-time! She loves to feed herself even if it is very messy!

Finding My Feet

First Food = PIZZA!!

Martha is now 6 months old and now ready to wean. The past week she has had tastes of vegetables, apple, banana, and yoghurt. Today at Naomi's birthday party she wanted to grab at the food so we gave her a finger of pizza - she Loved it!! She is definitely a Cook!

Family Camp, Wales

We spent 10 days camping in Wales at the end of August, at Gellie farm, Plwmp, and then Cwm Darran Parc, Aberbargoed. These pictures show Martha with friends and family at Gellie, and sitting in Madeleine's bumbo that we borrowed whilst in Aberbargoed. Martha seemed to enjoy her camping holiday very much!

I went to my cousin Nathan's birthday party and met some weird looking people!

Aunty Ali

We all had a lovely week while Aunty Ali, Josh and Isaac were visiting! Here's Martha having one of her cuddles with Aunty Ali.

Today at church Martha was given a name and a blessing by her dad. After church we had all the family and some close friends back to our home to enjoy some food and each others company. Martha was welcomed this weekend with the company of Grandma, Aunty Ali, Josh and Isaac; Aunty Sam, Kris, Nathan and Lewis; Nan and Grampi, Steve, and Matt; Aunty Helen, Andrew and Cara; Great Aunty Sally and Kelly; Great Uncle Peter, Julia and Matthew; Andrew Lovewell and Kevin and Tracey Tait.

Naomi and Liesl said that Martha has a chubbying face on this photo. It looks great. What a picture! We'll have to save this one to show to Martha's future boiyfriends!!

New family Record Breaker

Martha has taken the title of Youngest person with gey hair from Naomi. Naomi took the title at 6 months old from Emily who did not have a grey hair until she was 18 months. Martha is 12 weeks, and 6 days old when her first grey hair was noticed this morning! (Liesl has yet to grow one).

pieces of eight

we had a ward activity last night and we were asked to dress as pirates. We put a parrot head costume on Martha and sat her on mummy's shoulder! She didn't say much or even squawk but she did make some cute cooing noises.

bad hair day

Martha has quite long thick hair for a young baby. when her hair is wet it is VERY curly. This picture was taken 26 June (9 weeks old) after her bath.


This picture was taken 20 mins later when the hair had just dried - but not yet settled to its normal position. It's not easy to tell how bad the hairstyle is on the photo - but the hair is now basically straight but stuck out at all angles!

First Holiday

When Martha was 4 weeks old she had her first holiday with her sisters and Mum. The first stop was at Aunty Helen's house in Bristol where we stayed for 2 nights.

Then the family drove down to South Cornwall to Boscrege Caravan Park. We joined other families from Grimsby 2nd Ward for a week's holiday. We had a great time at the beach, zoo, aquarium, and Martha had her first swim at Waterworld. Martha stayed in the water for 25mins before getting cold, tired and hungry.

After our Cornwall holiday we visited Nan & Grampi in Bournemouth. Martha met her younger Cousin Jenna, Lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, great aunts & uncles, and her great Nan & Bampa.

Here at last!

Martha Heidi Cook joined her family on Monday 23rd April at 6.47am weighing 8lb 30z. Daddy was able to cut the cord - his first time. Martha has lots of thick dark hair just like her sister Naomi had at birth, and a birthmark under her left armpit just like mummy's!

Her first visitors were Aunty Helen, Uncle Andrew and cousin Cara - who came for cuddles when she was about 4 hrs old! Then Grandma brought in her 3 big sisters Emily 7yrs, Naomi 5yrs and Liesl 3yrs. They all took turns to hold their new baby sister.
Later in the early evening, Aunty Sam, Uncle Kris and cousins Nathan and Lewis came along meet Martha, and she had more cuddles with everyone.

Martha had her first ECG and ecchocardiograms performed to check out her extra heartbeats - there is nothing to be worried about, but she will have a further check up at around 4 months.

After her busy first day she enjoyed being fed and cuddled constantly throughout the night.
